Auto Insurance Company Supports Girls Inc. and Awards Its Own Woman Who Dares

SAN FRANCISCO, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Esurance, the direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance company, discussed its ongoing support of Girls Inc. of the Island City. Esurance was the Silver Circle Sponsor of the organization's 8th annual Women Who Dare event entitled, "Her True Voice." Esurance's Senior Copywriter, Jessica Guerin, was honored as a woman who dares to be "strong, smart, and bold," the Girls Inc. motto.

Guerin was recognized for her commitment to the community. She consistently volunteers at community-focused events organized by Esurance and in her private life, and her efforts have helped raise thousands of dollars for cancer research. Esurance also provides pro bono services to its non-profit partners, for which Guerin has also devoted hours of writing time. For her part, Guerin was thrilled with the honor, stating, "With so many talented and giving women at Esurance, I was touched to be singled out for my efforts."

The Women Who Dare Awards is Girls Inc.'s signature event. Girls from the Island City center go through the award-winning Best Foot Forward program -- a month of workshops on interviewing, script writing, presentation, and etiquette -- to prepare for the event, where they present awards to 3 women and 3 girls who follow their dreams and dare to be leaders. In addition, the organization recognizes the achievements of everyday "Women Who Dare" from the community, including Guerin.

The event is also an opportunity for Girls Inc. to thank their major sponsors, including Esurance. Over the years, Esurance has provided financial support for the organization's ongoing speaker series, covering such topics as science education, media literacy, and sports opportunities for girls.

Guerin summed up the experience by saying, "After every Girls Inc. event, I always leave feeling inspired by the incredible women who participate. It also makes me very proud to work at a company like Esurance that plays such a positive role in our community."
